hiking vs babies

analogies are funny.

we compare things that arent really similar at all.  but somehow make it work.

nathan does this a lot with silly, overused phrases.

i say, do you want to golf tomorrow?
he says, is a fat dog heavy?

(that conversation never actually happens. i never let nathan leave the house for fun. muhahaha)

two of my wonderful sister-in-laws are pregnant right now.  we found out recently, at least one of those dee babies is yet another boy!!

so, nathan asks me if we are going to have any more kids.
and i tell him,  not right now. im just not there.
and he says, look.  i have to start preparing. so i need a yes or no.

and then he says:
its like me and hiking.  you cant wake me up on saturday and ask me to hike. i have to have notice.

really?

planning on having another baby is like planning a easy stroll through red rock with three days notice?

just for the record.  when pushed for an answer, i settled on a 'no'
(why?  watch my son at church on sunday, and you'll know)

hahahaha! sometimes i feel like having babies sneaks up on me just as a hike I am totally unprepared for. nice.

and if it makes you feel any better, both of my kids were days before turning 3 when they were finally potty trained. and you know what??? I feel no shame in that! so a big fat poo on all those people dissing us late bloomers!

It's a testament to how easy I am. I just need a little notice and, POOF, BANGO!!...I am good to go.

Never underestimate the seriousness of a Saturday morning hike. You gotta' be committed like ya' read about.

Oh, and well said Amy.

Good thing I am catching up... I almost missed the shout out! Baby Jagger is very happy. :)

I'm pretty much with Nathan on the notice thing... just like hiking. If it's not on my calendar, it's not going to happen... except... when it comes to babies. Clearly, just not how we roll. Do you want to go hiking? Not if it's not on the calendar. Do you want to have another baby? Too big of a question to answer... so, we'll just not and then do! :)
